CROWDCOUNTER Technology
CrowdCounter Technology of
Canada produces two lines of People Counter equipment.
Both systems are used to count people passage using active infrared
sensor arrays. Both systems provide
high accuracy counts of the people passing in each direction. Both systems can be connected to Access
Control systems to provide “Optical Turnstile” functions. A general description follows; please click on the detailed specifications
for each unit for more details.

The OverHead Sensor, Display/Report Unit, & PC Data Printout
1-
Side-by-Side units, with ¼
inch tailgate rating with less than 1 % error rate
These units are floor mounted and can be
supplied in various mechanical housings to match the surrounding décor. They require in floor mounting &
cabling.
Each lane covers 26 to 40 inches of passage.
2-
Overhead units, with 1 inch tailgate rating and less than 1 % error
rate
These units are ceiling mounted, similar to
mounting an industrial sized 12 by 48 inch fluorescent light. Since there is no
floor mounted mechanical housing, the units are a fraction of the cost of the
side-by-side types.
Each
lane covers 48 inches of passageway.
Each
unit can be connected to its adjacent neighbor with a single built in cable,
and the end unit in an array is connected to a Display / Report Unit which can be either ceiling
mounted or wall mounted. The Display
Report unit displays the people counts on a fluorescent display, or the data
can be extracted using the built in serial computer port. Since no floor cabling is required, these
units are extremely cost effective to install, and when necessary, can be easily
moved to a new location.
3-
Display / Report unit can be used
with both types of system, and provides a non volatile memory record of the
people passage with time stamps for audit purposes. The Serial Interface provides PC and LAN connections for data downloading
in both real time and the stored data log.
