OverHead Sensor & Display / Report Unit

General: This unit provides the data reporting for the Overhead Sensors. All data and power is routed through this unit through the standard DB15 X cable (supplied) . The People Count data is available for each daisy chained section in two ways: by Fluorescent Data Display, and on a standard RS232C serial data link.

Overhead People Counter Interface:

Standard unit provides power and data reporting from one complete daisy chained section of sensors. The daisy chain can be extended to ANY number.

Fluorescent Data Display:

People Counts: Displays up to 100 million in each direction, as well as the difference

(Difference is “ENT” minus “EXI”), all displayed continuously

Time: In Digital Hour / Minute / Seconds format, updated each second. (Must be initialized through Serial Link)

Serial Interface link: RS 232 C (modem compatible) on standard DB9 connector at 2400 baud (modified to other rates at no charge). Counts can be accessed by connection directly to PC, or by dial-up modem, or physically seen on the fluorescent display. Optional non-volatile memory stores counts in one minute, 10 minute 1 hour, or one day increments. Over 2 years of passage data (hourly increments) can be stored in this memory.

T selects Time Increments

R Reports present counts

D Data dump of stored count log with date & time stamps.

B Initiates System Built-In-Test

H Initiates High Security mode

Data readout on PC uses standard Microsoft Windows ® Hyperterminal

Electrical: 12 V DC, 1 amp plus 400 mA per daisy chained Overhead sensor. 12 V Power supply provides power to this unit and all Overhead Sensor Units connected to it in a daisy chain. Battery backup for UPS recommended.
